UNIBEN Pharmacy Lecturers On Strike

Pharmacy lecturers in University of Benin has embarked on an indefinite strike since on the 1st of April, 2019. It was gathered that the decision of the lecturers to embark on the strike is because of the non-payment of professional allowance and from the fact that other health professionals in the school have been paid the said allowance, while that of pharmacy lecturers have remained pending.

Academic activities at the faculty of pharmacy has been put on hold since the strike started, and till date, not much has been done by the management of the University towards ending the ongoing strike.

The students of the faculty have resolved to peaceful protests around the university to express their grievances with the current strike action and have requested that the strike be called off soon.
